I built Transformation Health because I believe the most important thing any of us can do is take care of our health, and almost no one should have to do it alone.
More than half of us are carrying more weight than we would like, and that extra weight quietly raises the odds of the conditions that shorten our lives: diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and cognitive decline. Getting your metabolic health back is one of the single most powerful steps toward a longer, healthier life. I wanted to make that step feel a little kinder, a little simpler, and actually within reach.
I know how hard it is, because I have lived it. I have counted the calories, fought the cravings, lost the weight, watched some of it creep back, and started over more times than I can count. What I have learned is that there is no finish line in health. There is only consistency, honesty with yourself, and a little grace on the hard days.
My own story really started with my first company. I had just gotten married and bought a house, my wife had gone back to business school, and I had quit my job to build Potrero Media, coding websites around the clock and coping with the stress on too much pizza and beer. A year in, I had put on 35 pounds and barely recognized myself. So I did the only thing I know how to do with a problem: I measured it and went to work. I learned to count calories, started running and lifting again, and rebuilt my habits from the ground up. I have kept my weight in a healthy range for more than 20 years since, not through willpower alone, but through systems, patience, and showing up.
Somewhere along the way, health became the thing I care about most. I took up distance running in my forties, chased and eventually earned a Boston Marathon qualifying time, and learned as much from the injuries and setbacks as from the finish lines. Reading Peter Attia’s “Outlive” and following the science of longevity changed how I think about all of it: the goal is not just a longer life, but a stronger, more energetic one, for as many years as possible. Today I treat my own health like the most important project I run, tracking my bloodwork, training for strength, building an aerobic base, eating with intention, and protecting my sleep.
I have also spent more than two decades building and leading companies, from a founding role at QuinStreet to Potrero Media, which I led through its sale to InsWeb, where I served as President and COO through the company’s acquisition by Bankrate, and later Presidio Interactive. I loved every hard minute of it. But helping people feel better in their own lives is the most meaningful work I have ever done.
That is why I founded Amerigo Health and its telehealth platform, Transformation Health. When I was fighting my own battle, all I had was willpower and a calorie app. The science has come a long way since then. GLP-1 and GIP medications can give people a real biological ally, the kind of help I never had, prescribed by licensed providers when it is clinically appropriate and paired with the coaching and lifestyle support that help change last.
I know what it feels like to look at the scale and not recognize the number, and I know the quiet discipline it takes to lace up when no one is watching. Most of all, I know that no one should have to do this alone. That is the company I set out to build, and the transformation I would be honored to help you find.
